Dear Parents and Partners

Welcome to a new school year! All of us at Community Outreach Center, Inc. would like to make this a successful year for your child. Your active support and cooperation, combined with our best professional efforts, will ensure academic success for all our students. I am proud of our staff, and I feel fortunate to work with such dedicated, talented teachers and volunteers.

We invite you to become involved in Community Outreach Center, Inc., and encourage you to visit. The after-school partnership is strengthened by your involvement, and there is a spirit of cooperation and progress at our after school program that we would like to share with you.

There will be many center activities throughout the year that will give you the opportunity to become involved in your child's education. We encourage you to make these activities a part of your schedule. We realize that not all parents or guardians can attend center functions, but we encourage you to demonstrate to your children that you're interested in their schoolwork by setting aside a few minutes each day to:

* listen while your child describes school day activities

* read to your child

* listen while your child reads to you

* help with homework

* limit the viewing of television

Please feel free to stop in and introduce yourself to me, or to ask a question about anything that concerns you. I look forward to working together as partners in learning. Look for our Back to School Night, to be held in the up-coming weeks.
